Katie in tree pose in front of Taipei 101

Hello

Hi, I'm Katie.

I'm a qualified Yin Yoga instructor, and I'm on a mission to help you slow down, be still, and listen. It isn't always easy to get out to a studio — so these classes meet you where you are, at home and free. I live in Taipei with my husband and our cat (my senior stretching correspondent and head assistant), and together we make simple, minimal classes to practise along with, from my life to yours. I hope they bring a few peaceful moments to your day.

How I found Yin

I was teaching yoga at a gym in Canada, and one of the perks was a free membership — so I got to try all the other classes. One day I showed up to a Yin Yoga course with no idea what it was, and I fell in love straight away. I knew right then: this was it for me. I loved how much time and space there was to explore each pose — to go deep within yourself, in the silence. I found Yin profoundly relaxing, and now I want to share it with the world.

How I teach

My teaching is gentle and unhurried. We only ever aim for about 60–80% of your capacity — a real stretch, but never forcing — and hold the shapes long enough for the body to soften on its own. There's no right or wrong here, and nothing to keep up with. You're always welcome to take the lighter option, rest when you need to, and make the practice your own.

One of my core philosophies is minimal cueing — I tell you just what you need to know, and nothing more, so there's plenty of room for quiet introspection. I'm a qualified yoga instructor, trained at the Arhanta Yoga Ashram in the Netherlands.

What you'll find here

Everything on this site is free. There are full-length classes for whatever you need — sleep, a sore back, tight hips, a busy mind — a whole pose guide to learn the shapes at your own pace, and guided routines that lead you gently from one pose to the next, so you can close your eyes and simply follow along. If you're not sure where to begin, my free two-hour retreat is a lovely place to start.
