A short, gentle introduction to Yin Yoga — your very first class, if you like. We move slowly through just a handful of simple full-body poses, holding each one for two minutes so the stretch can reach past the muscle into the deeper tissue around your joints. I talk you into and out of every shape step by step, so there’s nothing to figure out on your own. Come as you are — every pose has a gentler option and a deeper one.
Complete beginners, and anyone easing back into their body after a break. If you’ve never done Yin — or any yoga — before, this is a lovely place to start. There’s no experience needed, nothing to keep up with, and no way to get it wrong. Just follow my voice and go at your own pace.
Your mat, and a warm, quiet space where you can be still for a few minutes. A cushion or a couple of blocks to sit on makes the seated poses more comfortable, and a blanket is nice to have nearby — but none of it is essential. Press pause whenever you need to.

Absolutely — this class was made for you. There's no experience needed and nothing to keep up with. We move slowly through just a few simple poses, I talk you into each one step by step, and every shape has a gentler option and a deeper one. Come as you are.
Two minutes each today. In Yin we can hold for up to five minutes, but for a beginners' class two minutes is plenty of time to feel the stretch settle in without it feeling like too much. Come out sooner if you ever need to.
No flexibility required at all — Yin isn't about how far you go. A cushion or a couple of blocks to sit on is lovely if you have them, and a blanket for comfort, but your mat is all you truly need.
