What this Yin class is

A gentle 30-minute reset for a frazzled nervous system. We settle in constructive rest, ease the often-tight psoas with a supported knee-to-chest release, then open the chest in a supported fish with reclined butterfly. From there we soften the hips in reclined swan and a slow figure-4 twist, take one big full-body stretch, and melt back into constructive rest to finish. Slow, quiet and deeply calming from beginning to end.

Who this class is for

This one is for you if you’re carrying stress or anxiety, recovering from a busy week, or struggling to switch off at night. It’s beginner-friendly and almost entirely reclined, so there’s nothing to force and nowhere to be. Come exactly as you are.

What you need

Two yoga blocks, and a bolster if you have one — a firm pillow or cushion works just as well for resting your head and propping your chest. A warm, quiet space where you can be still is all else you need. Every pose has a gentler option and a deeper one, so take whichever your body wants today.

Common questions

What props do I need for this class?

Grab your two yoga blocks, and a bolster if you have one. No bolster? A firm pillow or cushion works just as well. That's everything — we use them to support your chest and rest your head so you can truly let go.

Is this suitable if I'm brand new to Yin?

Absolutely. This is one of the gentlest classes on the channel — mostly reclined, held softly, with a calm voice guiding you the whole way. No experience or flexibility needed, just a willingness to slow down and rest.

Can I do this before bed?

Yes — it's made for it. The slow holds and long exhales help you shift into rest-and-relax mode, so it's a lovely way to unwind at the end of a busy day and ease into sleep.

A gentle reminder: Yin asks you to respect your limits, not override them. Come out of any pose that feels like pain rather than sensation, ease off if your hands tingle or a knee complains, and take your time coming out of the long holds — the body feels tender for a moment, and that passes. This practice is about taking good care of your body, never pushing it.
