What this Yin class is

A slow, gentle hour of Yin for a total-body stretch — the perfect thing when you’re feeling a little tired, lazy or unmotivated, but still want some mindful movement and time to unwind. We work through just a handful of grounded shapes, holding each one for around five minutes so you can settle in and let go. Nothing rushed, nowhere to be. Come as you are — every pose has a gentler option and a deeper one.

Who this class is for

Anyone who wants to chill out, loosen the hips and back, and give the whole body a long, slow stretch — after a busy day, before bed, or any time you need to drop out of your head for a while. New to Yin? Read the pose notes below first, then follow the shapes at your own pace.

What you need

Just your mat, and a warm, quiet space where you can be still. No props are required, though a cushion or a couple of yoga blocks nearby are nice to sit on or lean into if you have them. Press pause whenever you need to.

Common questions

How long is this Yin class, and how long are the holds?

It runs a little over an hour, and each pose is held for around five minutes so the shape has time to work. Come out sooner whenever you need to.

Do I need any props?

No props are required — just your mat. A cushion or a couple of yoga blocks nearby are lovely to sit on or lean into if you have them, but they're entirely optional.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes. It's a gentle, all-levels practice with only a handful of simple shapes. Find your edge at about 60–80%, and take the gentler option of any pose whenever you like.

A gentle reminder: Yin asks you to respect your limits, not override them. Come out of any pose that feels like pain rather than sensation, ease off if your hands tingle or a knee complains, and take your time coming out of the long holds — the body feels tender for a moment, and that passes. This practice is about taking good care of your body, never pushing it.
