What this Yin class is

Forty minutes of gentle, supported Yin to help you unwind at the end of the day. We use a bolster and blocks so your body is fully held in every shape — which means you can soften, stop trying, and let the props do the work. The holds are long and restful, releasing the hips, spine and chest while your nervous system quietly downshifts. Come as you are — every pose has a gentler option and a deeper one.

Who this class is for

Anyone who wants to lie on the floor for a while, stretch, and let the day go. It’s perfect after a busy day, before bed, or any time you feel wound up and want to calm your mind. Beginners are very welcome — the props keep everything supported, so there’s no forcing anywhere. New to Yin? Read the pose notes below first, then follow along at your own pace.

What you need

Your mat, a yoga bolster, and one or two blocks. No bolster? A stack of firm pillows or folded cushions works beautifully. A warm, quiet space where you can be still is lovely too. Press pause whenever you need to.

Common questions

What props do I need for this class?

A yoga bolster and one or two blocks. If you don't have a bolster, a stack of firm pillows or folded cushions works just as well — the idea is simply to have something soft to rest your body onto so you can let go completely.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes. The props do most of the work, so you're always supported rather than straining. Come as you are — every pose has a gentler option and a deeper one, and you can rest into whatever feels right for your body today.

Can I do this before bed?

Absolutely — it's made for it. The whole practice is designed to help you unwind and calm your mind, so it's a lovely way to release the day and settle before sleep.

A gentle reminder: Yin asks you to respect your limits, not override them. Come out of any pose that feels like pain rather than sensation, ease off if your hands tingle or a knee complains, and take your time coming out of the long holds — the body feels tender for a moment, and that passes. This practice is about taking good care of your body, never pushing it.
